As gently and politely as I can put this: that post I made about outliving him is meant to be an anti-suicide affirmation. It is not meant to be a blinders-on assessment of reality, of the future boiling down to whether one man lives or dies. alright I'll bite, who is this fish guy and why do u tag the most unhinged posts for him, I'm so intrigued

HI reading this made me laugh, he is a little unhinged youre right.

jackson 'jax' 'axe' 'fish' fischer is a guy i made for a laugh while my friends and i were brainstorming funny dnd character concepts, but now he's real and serious to me. he's the knight of a righteous god, blessed with a healing touch, taught since childhood that he was born to do good and help people, and he does all that (and does it well), until one day it just...doesn't work. he loses his power and he can't help anyone anymore. he still has his sword and his strength, and he uses those to aid those in need, but its not the same, its not what he was made for. he prays and prays and prays and hears nothing back, and then he gets angry.

all he can do is fight, and watch the carnage left behind with nothing more to offer. he leaves. he turns away from the people who need him, he uses his sword and his strength for the people who can pay, instead. he's bitter and blood soaked, and all alone, and makes the insane decision to go find god. he deserves some kind of answer, right? and definitely the logical way to talk to the god who abandoned you a la spiritual ghosting is to...seek them out in the material world...

so he sets out, man on a mission and all that, gets a lot more blood on his hands and really falls into a sunk cost fallacy of like, 'if i stop now all the ugly things ive done and the way ive made a monster of myself have been for nothing' that makes him push ahead despite it all.

one time when he's almost dead, he feels a new bond in the place where his link to his old god was, but he has no fucking clue who it is or whats going on, and he tries to ignore it for a while, but eventually he accepts the help and lets the new presence guide him, because it seems to be working out. if nothing else, it seems to heal him every time he falls, and with all the shit he's doing, that's enough of a reason to follow.

now, who's to say if he was almost dead when this new thing found him, or he was actually dead. we just don't know! (because we are actively ignoring thinking about it because it goes against everything we were taught as young, blessed children!)

My brain has not stopped popping things into my head, but it decides to turn into a lump of grey mashed potato when I try to write more than an idea outline. >.<

Most current example below the cut (Arcadion-related):

No idea how to make this more coherent, but firstly, when Akagi is setting the parameters for the simulacrum joining him in the arena, he inadvertently punches in the jobs of his dearest friends: Gunbreaker, Red Mage, Sage, Dragoon, Pictomancer, Astrologian, Black Mage and [insert Raha's "class" here xD]. It doesn't register until his first match and he slips into the way he usually fights with the Scions. xD

However, when Wicked Thunder shows up, something clicks (Echo, perhaps) and he asks Metem to disable the soul system, which gets a rather terrified squawk, and Akagi just chuckles and says not to worry, he'll take care of it. And he taps a specific linkpearl he carries twice. And as Wicked Thunder powers up, he pulls out his Azem stone and calls on some heavier hitters.

Two of these are my two alts (and two close Echo-having friends of Akagi) Ameh, the feisty White Mage, and Gevial, the smarmy Rogue-turned-Ninja. But then, who are the other five? And I started seeing glimpses of some of my mutuals WoLs around and I was just like… I mean, that makes sense? xD (And at least one instance of Ameh having to yank Gevial or some other greedy DPS out of the line of fire at least once, swearing profusely. xD)

And while mechanics and writing are not one to one, during the repeated heavy cannon hits, Akagi would throw up the Bastion; a pair of Red Mages step up to one side (I blame @traveleorzea and @autumnslance for my renewed appreciation of the coolness of Red Mages xD), readying an attack; a Warrior on the other, readying their own attack; and a Dragoon vaults off the top of the Bastion as it comes down, so they can hit WT as the cannon cools. And then all fall back behind Akagi's wings and Ameh's bell for another hit, and managing to end the fight before she can fire a third time.

So, yea. That just...running through my mind today. ^_^;

no, but have i talked about this on here before? because i don't think i have yet. though i was just thinking about all of the different people that barton has been interested in romantically, and one of them that definitely stands out to me is auriel. because even he doesn't really know what it is, but in the main story for barton, she's been missing for quite some time. i'm talking like ever since his final year of undergrad. so, it's been more than a decade since barton has seen her and yet, he still checks whether anyone with her physical description has suddenly shown up again in gotham.

and he has actually made an effort to compile whatever evidence he could pertaining to auriel's disappearance, which... although there hasn't been anything new as to where his character is in the timeline of events right now? barton may be the only person in gotham who is actively looking for her anymore. plus, before auriel went missing, she had actually lent one of her coats to him and i swear to god... this man has never taken care of an article of clothing better than he's taken care of her coat. so, this kind of makes me wonder how barton's usual behavior could be so contrary compared to him doing something like this.

i mean, judging by how he behaves around most people (which is basically TERRIBLY, to put it simply jsjsj), i think that he must've felt like they had a deeper connection between each other somehow. though auriel herself is certainly not a villain. so i'm saying this in terms of barton perhaps trusting her enough to tell her things that he wouldn't normally tell a soul, like how he was (and still somewhat is) afraid of his bio father as a kid. but yeah — seeing as i know what had happened to her character, this hits especially hard for me 😭 because she may not be dead but auriel certainly hasn't been in a good spot for a longgg time

why must we know so little about roberto? like there are hints and stuff and theories (like that he was military police or is possibly millys uncle, both things i personally greatly enjoy)

but what i was wondering specifically now is, why was HE picked to teach the newbie? like milly asked to be under meryl of all people but im pretty sure meryl did NOT pick roberto as her senior

like we don't know the details but i would imagine she has not been told about the alcoholism.

like, what was the thinking there? meryl graduated top of her class, that would make her a promising pick, right?

why stick her with a bitter, unmotivated alcoholic? (listen i adore roberto but he's not exactly a joy to be aroound, especially at first. he is goddam sharp but also past seeing any point in fighting the good fight).

did they see this overly eager and optimistic city girl and thought, she has potential but we need to give her a reality check. and keep her from killing herself. i guess we have the man for that.

the agony of being a fan of the “villain who also is/acts like an uncle/parent/guardian figure to the protagonist” and “funny road trip” tropes and also sinking too much emotional investment into pokemon ranger guardian signs characters means my white whale of a fanfiction is post game summers out doing some international mission r something. maybe undercover idk but it’s something where she’s mostly cut off from official support. and mewtwo finally decides to spit Ed out of whatever limbo portal rand and him got Got in back on the sky fortress and now she’s gotta deal with this bullshit, and all the hurt that came w his betrayal that she thought she successfully buried is suddenly there again like it was just yesterday gs happened (except it’s been marinating for a few years at least so now it’s uhh definitely off color a bit) and Ed’s gotta deal with his survival being entirely reliant on the girl who effectively wild card-nullified any reputation n standing he built and decades of work towards world domination in the span of a month (maybe two). and despite the fact that they both feel very deep resentment towards each other they still had a genuine friendship in Oblivia and still very clearly see aspects of themselves in the other and they’re both stuck trying to reconcile the urge to fall back into that familiar weird grandpa n weirder grandchild dynamic versus the urge to scream at each other until their voices give out.
